Description
It looks like coral on land but it’s a fungi called Ramariopsis kenzei. I saw some as small as my fingernails and some almost as long as my fingers along the pathways of Murphy’s Point Provincial Park. They're always fun to spot because the structure almost doesn’t look real. I would see them in clusters and they would remind me of an underwater reef. This fungi is technically reported as non-toxic and edible but it’s recommended that you don't eat them because there are many dangerous lookalikes that can cause severe abdominal pain and illness. They’re also not that tasty.
